What does a recruiter do?

A recruiter is someone who assists both the job seeker and the employer. A recruiter helps the job seeker find the best job for them and aids the employer as they search for the ideal employee. The recruiter does this by reviewing resumes, interviewing potential candidates, and evaluating the potential fit an employee will have within a company. A recruiter may work for a given company or independently with several different clients. Typically, a recruiter works to locate new clients as well as fulfill the needs of the clients they currently have.

How do employers and clients benefit by working with a recruiter?

Recruiters know about positions before they're advertised. They have strong relationships with companies and are informed about positions that will be available in the near future. As a client, the recruiter will assist you in your search for the right position or candidate. Rather than sifting through countless jobs postings or endless resumes, a recruiter will help you narrow down your list of potential positions or candidates through the information, knowledge and understand they have about an open position or a specific candidate. This provides the employer and/or candidate the ability to have a more focused search and ultimately leads to a greater likelihood of finding the ideal position or employee.
